Worksop Town forward Liam Hughes shared his story of his struggles with mental health in a special talk with the participants of the In Sam’s Name – Worksop group at the Windsor Foodservice Stadium.

Hughes attracted a strong attendance with a mix of members of the men’s mental health support group, as well as people just interested in hearing his story – those people also stayed and opened up during the delivery of the group’s normal session, which Hughes stayed for.

“I always do find strength and empowerment from listening to other people and sharing my experience with the hope that people can draw strength from that,” said Hughes. “Tonight was a night to reassure people that I suffer too and even now, at 30 years old and with my background, my weeks are still filled with struggles with me going through issues with personal things. If I have affected just one person in that room for the better, then it was worthwhile.”
